Shabbat Shalom to you all.

We have just returned from watching a documentary
film, 'My 100 Children.' (Me'ah yeladim sheli
Directed by Amalia Margolin and Oshrah Schwartz. Produced by Mosh Danon A JCS production).

The film was about a lady called Lena
Kichler-Silverman who was a teacher in Poland prior to and during the Shoah (Holocaust). Lena found many children orphaned and living on their instincts in the streets, cruelly orphaned by the atrocities performed by the Nazi regime. Quietly, without fuss, Lena managed to gather the children into one place. She raised the money to feed them, to clothe them and to
sustain them. Lena managed to save 100 children, a fact which gave the name to her book and this film.

The children, now adults living in Israel, were taken back to Poland with Lena's actual daughter
accompanying them. They revisited the places they had first met. Their memories, their incredible tenacity, their hope and their ultimate arrival in Israel together with their beloved "Mother" is so triumphant that this story alone stands testament to the fact
this land, the State of Israel, was born out of the ashes of the Holocaust as a Phoenix but has risen and flourished in a way that no mythical creature could attain. This land is our land and must ever be. Our achievements must be lauded and our democracy applauded.

As each of the films participants walked proudly on to the stage each of them was the living, breathing proof that one person CAN make a difference. The rest is irrelevant.

Outstanding. This was the Premiere and they are desperately looking for an outlet.

Shabbat Shalom to you all. I wish you loyal friends and I pray that you will always have the strength to be that ONE person.

With love
Sheila
