To the editor: Your site has proved to be a consistently useful and illuminating outlet for one side of the argument concerning the current situation in the Middle East. I regularly read the articles posted, and have contributed myself. However, you let yourself down when you stoop to unnecessary levels in order to score cheap rhetorical points against "unjustified" pro-Palestinian sentiment. Today's attack on Cherie Blair was a case in point. By her own admission, Mrs Blair made a serious blunder. But her words were swiftly condemned by vocal Jewish leaders, and seized upon by political opponents in an effort to attack both Mrs Blair and her husband - who just happens to be the Prime Minister. I do not visit Jewish Comment in order to read more of the lazy, anti-government politicking that is infecting our national media so thoroughly these days. I visit the site in order to read a wide variety of viewpoints on the Middle East, some of which I agree with, and some of which I do not. Mrs Blair's words were not of any true relevance to the current situation in the region. You know that, I know that, and so, indeed, does she - otherwise she would never have been indiscreet enough to stray off-message. Jewish Comment should have considered this before joining the rush to attack the woman. Yours sincerely, Adam Blenford
